Funding Source
This dataset was compiled and analysed as part of a PhD research project investigating the long-term performance, nutrient dynamics, and reliability of integrated constructed wetlands treating municipal wastewater.

METHODOLOGICAL INFORMATION

Description of Dataset
This dataset contains historical operational water quality monitoring data from the Glaslough Integrated Constructed Wetland (ICW) collected between 2014 and 2020. The monitoring programme formed part of routine wastewater treatment operational and compliance monitoring undertaken by Uisce Éireann.

The dataset was subsequently compiled, cleaned, processed, and analysed for academic research purposes at Cranfield University.

The data include measurements associated with wastewater treatment performance, nutrient removal, suspended solids attenuation, and organic matter reduction within the integrated constructed wetland system.

Description of Data Collection
Samples were collected from designated monitoring points within the treatment system using routine operational monitoring procedures. Both composite and 24-hour composite samples are included where applicable.

The dataset includes measurements related to:

* Organic matter removal
* Suspended solids
* Nitrogen species
* Phosphorus concentrations
* Alkalinity
* pH

Analytical Methods
Water quality analyses were undertaken using standard wastewater analytical procedures and accredited laboratory methods where applicable.

Parameters measured include:

* pH
* Total Suspended Solids (TSS)
* Alkalinity
* Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD)
* Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD5)
* Total Phosphorus (TP)
* Orthophosphate Phosphorus (Ortho P)
* Total Nitrogen (TN)
* Ammonium Nitrogen (NH4-N)
* Nitrate Nitrogen (NO3-N)

Experimental Conditions
The dataset represents monitoring data collected under real-world full-scale operational conditions within a municipal wastewater treatment integrated constructed wetland system. Data reflect temporal variability associated with changing hydraulic loading, seasonal conditions, and operational performance.

Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC)

* Sampling and laboratory analyses were undertaken as part of routine wastewater monitoring procedures.
* Analytical QA/QC procedures associated with the original monitoring programme were undertaken by Uisce Éireann and associated laboratories.
* Composite sampling was used where appropriate to improve representativeness.
* Data cleaning and formatting were undertaken prior to analysis.
* Missing or unavailable measurements were retained as blank cells.

SHARING AND ACCESS INFORMATION

License and Restrictions
The original monitoring data were provided by Uisce Éireann for academic research purposes. Users should acknowledge both Uisce Éireann and Cranfield University where appropriate.

Some data may remain subject to third-party ownership or institutional sharing restrictions.

Associated Publications
This dataset contributes to ongoing PhD research examining long-term treatment wetland performance, nutrient dynamics, compliance behaviour, and reliability in integrated constructed wetlands.
